About Dr. Castro
Dr. Adriana Castro grew up in San Antonio, TX and did both her undergraduate and medical education there as well. She graduated with a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry & molecular biology from Trinity University and then pursued her medical degree at UT Health San Antonio Long School of Medicine.
She changed up her scenery as she moved to Phoenix, AZ for 5 years to complete her general surgery residency at HonorHealth. She transformed from a shy intern to serving as the chief general surgery resident her fifth year. Her passion during residency aside from general surgery was working with the NOAH clinic, a resident-run general surgery clinic provided free of charge to the uninsured and underinsured patients in the area. She transformed the entire program into an efficiently run practice with patient care seamlessly organized through a system she created. She designed it to minimize losing patients to follow up, and avoid deficiencies when care was transitioned from one resident to another.
During her free time, she enjoys exploring Austin and spending time with family and friends in San Antonio and Houston.
